Qaza Namaz Calculator

Estimate how many missed prayers (Qada Salah) you owe, prayer by prayer, and get a simple daily plan to make them up.

Last updated: October 2026

Maturity begins at the first physical signs of puberty. If you are unsure when that was, many scholars use 15 lunar years as the upper limit, which is why 15 is the default.

If you have not started yet, use today's date.

Prayers missed during menstruation are not made up, so these days are left out of the count.

This is an estimate. Allah knows your intention and your effort, so do your best and round up if unsure. For your particular situation, please consult a local scholar.

Quick answers

How do I calculate my qaza namaz?

Count the years since you became obligated to pray (puberty) during which you missed prayers, subtract any time you prayed regularly, and multiply the days by five prayers (six in the Hanafi school, including Witr). The calculator above does this for you and gives a daily makeup plan.

How can I make up missed prayers quickly?

Pray one or more qaza prayers with each daily prayer, for example a qaza Fajr after your Fajr. Two qaza per prayer clears about a month of missed prayers in two weeks. Consistency matters more than speed.

Is there a qaza namaz tracker app?

Yes. Islamic Tracker lets you log qaza (missed) prayers as you make them up, next to your five daily prayers, with streaks and analytics. Use this calculator to estimate the total, then log your progress in the app.

Do I need to make up Witr?

In the Hanafi school Witr is wajib and is made up like the obligatory prayers; other schools consider it Sunnah and do not require it. Follow the school you practise, and ask a scholar if unsure.

How the calculator works

The missed period starts on the date you became baligh and ends on the date you started praying regularly. Each day in between counts as one of each daily prayer. Your age at baligh is counted in lunar (Hijri) years, the Islamic calendar's years of about 354 days.

For women, the average days of menstruation per month are removed from the total, because those prayers are not owed. The calculator cannot account for postnatal bleeding (nifas), so subtract those days yourself if they apply.

Qaza namaz tracker

Once you know roughly how many prayers you owe, the hard part is steadily making them up. Islamic Tracker lets you log qaza (missed) prayers in the app as you pray them, alongside your five daily prayers, so you can see your progress and keep going. A common plan is to pray one qaza prayer with each daily prayer.

Keeping your current prayers on time matters just as much, so that no new qaza builds up; the namaz tracker helps with that.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate how many Qaza prayers I owe?

Count the days from the date you became baligh (mature) to the date you started praying regularly, then multiply by the five daily prayers (and Witr if you follow the Hanafi school). Women subtract the days of menstruation and postnatal bleeding, because those prayers are not made up. The calculator above does this for you as an estimate.

Do women make up prayers missed during their period?

No. Scholars agree that prayers missed during menstruation and postnatal bleeding are not made up, so those days are left out of the count.

Do I need to make up Sunnah prayers?

Generally no. Qaza is for the obligatory (fard) prayers. In the Hanafi school, Witr is also made up because it is considered wajib.

When can I pray Qaza prayers?

You can pray them at any time of day except the three times when prayer is not permitted: while the sun is rising, when it is at its highest point (zenith), and while it is setting.

What if I don't know exactly how many prayers I missed?

Make your best estimate and, to be safe, round up rather than down. Keep praying them until you are reasonably confident you have covered what you owe. If your situation is complicated, ask a local scholar.
